LEDtronics > Solar Powered Flashing LED Safety Bike Light
Date: 2013-05-23 17:24Read: 10029

LEDtronics® announces its latest solar-powered LED safety light
for outdoor evening activities, such as bicycling, walking, jogging
and inline skating. Now any outdoorsman can carry an extra
measure of security into the backcountry or when battling for a spot
on the concrete jungle, with a new compact and lightweight
Flashing LED Solar-Powered Safety Bike Light.

Time and time again traffic safety studies have shown that
bicyclists experience higher safety rates with the use of lights that
make them more visible to motorists, during both the day and night.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations
statistics, 33 percent of bicyclist fatalities in 2002 occurred between
the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. A more recent study by the
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 22% of bicyclist fatalities in
2006 occurred between 6 pm and 9 pm—the most during the day,
while 18% took place between 9 pm and midnight.

The most common advice given by biking magazines and websites:
If youre riding at night, you absolutely should use a flashing red
rear light. They all agree that bicycle reflectors are not sufficient for
safety. Some states have even enacted laws to that effect. Maine,
for example, requires bicyclists to have a headlight and red taillight
visible from at least 500 feet when riding at night.

The Flashing LED Solar-Powered Safety Bike Light by LEDtronics®
is just the unit for this purpose. It is very compact, yet it produces a
repeating flash that can be seen from up to 2,000 feet away,
depending on atmospheric conditions and line of sight.

The red flasher is a great safety multitasker. In addition to its
primary use on a bike, this unit is ideal for children while walking
home from school at dusk. It is indispensable for campers, hikers,
skiers, bicyclists and even boaters, since it is waterproof to a depth
of three feet. Use it as a personal marker by attaching it to your
jacket or belt at night. You can mark your tent or dangerous areas
around the campsite. Keep one in your emergency kit at home or
one in the glove box of your car in case of fire, flood or earthquake,
so that you can use it as a signaling device.

Best of all, this bright flashing unit needs no batteries and is eco-
friendly. It sports a built-in solar rechargeable Ni-MH battery that
will last up to 5 years (subject to environmental conditions and
usage). The unit comes with a red lens and two red 5mm LEDs that
flash continuously at a frequency of 200±10 times per minute for
over 10 hours, and on only 3-5 hours of daylight charging time. It
has both a vibrating sensor and a lighting sensor, switching—it
lights after dark and stays off in daylight, and if no vibration is
sensed, it is set to switch off.

The LEDtronics® Flashing LED Solar-Powered Safety Bike Light,
series SLR-BIKE, is lightweight, weighing only 1.6 ounces—easy to
carry on the person. It is also compact, measuring 50mm wide x
65mm high x 30mm deep. Its polycarbonate construction is fully
weatherproof. It is easily mounted on any bicycle with the provided
mounting clamps, using just a screwdriver. Once installed, it is
incredibly low-maintenance.

The Flashing LED Solar-Powered Safety Bike Light part number
SLR-BIKE-RED-001 is available for $16.95 per unit. Discounts are
available for large purchases. Availability is stock. First-time large
production quantities are available to customers in 4-6 weeks.

Famous Port of Los Angeles bridge lit up with vibrant blue LED lights [1/2]
by LEDtronics - 2013-05-24 10:14 - 8,060 views
January 30, 2005 Product page: http://www.ledtronics.com/products/Pr... Press release: http://www.ledtronics.com/Media/Press... Home page: http://www.ledtronics.com/ Pervaiz Lodhie of LEDtronics proposed the innovative idea of implementing solar-energy in tandem with the LED lights. A 4.5- kilowatt solar-panel system located near the bridge generates electricity that is then sold to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. While the LED lights themselves do not directly tap into the solar-generated power, the Vincent Thomas Bridge is the first of its kind to leverage solar-generated power to pay for the cost of operating decorative lighting. A total of 160 LED fixtures light both sides of the bridge, 80 LEDtronics units affixed to the apex of the suspension cables along with an additional 80 located at deck level. Each LED fixture consumes only 19.5 Watts of power, making LEDs the perfect complement to solar energy. Several variations of LED lamps were tested before the solar-powered, envi...
LEDtronics Energy Saving LED Lights on Torrance CitiCable TV Show
by LEDtronics - 2013-05-24 10:13 - 7,520 views
In an interview with reporter Perrine Bakhshay for the half-hour This Week in Torrance program, Mr. Lodhie told its Southern California viewers that light-emitting diodes hold tremendous promise for a world that faces diminishing energy resources. LED bulbs are the most ideal complements to alternative energy solutions, as they make perfect use of the relatively small amounts of power generated by such sources as wind, solar and tides, said Mr. Lodhie, whom the anchor introduced as an innovator intent on reinventing the light bulb.

Micro One Watt LED Powerful Flashlight
by LEDtronics - 2013-05-23 17:28 - 10,099 views
LEDtronics®, the proven performer in LED technology, introduces a new Micro High-Power LED Flashlight. While continuing the durability of its predecessors, the new Micro FlashLED is more powerful than most LED flashlights on the market today. It has a one-watt, 80-lumen LED chip that emits over 4,300 end foot- candles (4300cd) of bright Cool White (8000 Kelvin) light thats powerful enough and lasts long enough to light your way — all the way home. Other LED light colors are available for qualified customers. Micro FlashLED operates on three standard, replaceable, AAA-cell- type alkaline batteries. Since LEDs are 80-90% more energy efficient than incandescent lamps, the unit operates 20 - 30 times longer than the comparable incandescent flashlight, providing up to 96 hours or 4 days of continuous illumination at a diminishing light output rate. It retains 50% of its light output after one hour of continuous use. The exterior is made of anodized aluminum to resist corrosion, impact and scratching. With a brushed aluminum finish, modest styling and sleek form, Micro FlashLED makes a discrete addition to a ladys handbag, a schoolchilds bac...

MR16 GU10 LED Lamps
by LEDtronics - 2013-05-23 15:34 - 10,779 views
TORRANCE, CA — August 15, 2008 — LEDtronics® introduces an addition to its line of drop-in replacement MR16-styled /GU10- based LED bulbs: High-powered 3.3-Watt LED lamps. Two major advantages distinguish this new bulb over other GMR16 LED lamps. First, it is engineered to handle the variations in voltages that may accompany noisy or dirty AC (but not DC) power supplies, eliminating potential burnout from incoming voltage that is higher than the lamps capacity. Second, the new 3.3-Watt MR16/GU10 bulb eliminates the need to stock a variety of LED MR16/GU10 bulbs to coordinate with different voltages that power sources of 80- 260 volts AC may present, simplifying procurement and inventory procedures. High-powered 3.3-watt LED MR16/GU10 bulbs (Series Number GMR16-5W) have the following characteristics: Bi-pin bases just like standard incandescent MR16/GU10-based bulbs, and light outputs of 123 lumens using only 3.3 watts with input voltage range of 80-260VAC. The bulb features three High-Power LEDs and is offered in Warm White (3000 Kelvin) color temperature and in 20° spotlight beam angle. With factory approval, MR16/GU10 3.3W bulbs may be...
