Atmel: Trusted Platform Module Demo by Atmel - 2015-03-11 12:29 - 28,850 views
Atmel’s Ronnie Thomas and Tom Moulton explore the latest lineup of the company’s flagship security devices. With data breaches and
vulernabilities on the rise, the engineers highlight the need for the FIPS 140-2 Certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is capable of
providing strong hardware-based public key (RSA) security for both personal computers and embedded processors on a single chip.
"Think of it as a microcontroller that can take a punch and come back for more.”
The TPM is a complete turnkey system that integrates industry-leading Atmel AVR microcontroller architecture, Atmel EEPROM technology,
and Atmel security technology. Implementing version 1.2 of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) specification for TPMs, the chip supports
secure boot via platform integrity measurements, intellectual property protection, authentication, and secure communications. The AT97SC*
series is offered in three different interfaces: SPI, LPC, and I2C. All revisions are supported in both Commercial and Industrial Grades. The
Trusted Platform Module Embedded Development Kit received a 2008 Readers Tech Choice Award from eg3, an independent news source

Atmel: IoT-Enabled Temperature Sensor Demo by Atmel - 2015-03-11 12:27 - 28,449 views
Clay Tomlinson, Senior Applications Engineer, reveals just how easy it is to take Atmel’s power supply cooling demo and bring it online. In
order to make it IoT-enabled, four key elements were necessary: a controller, a security device, communication and a temperature sensor.
For this task, Tomlinson utilized an Atmel | SMART SAM D21, an ATECC108, a ATWINC1500 and an AT30TSE758A temperature sensor.

Atmel: maXTouch Superior Moisture Immunity Demo by Atmel - 2015-03-11 12:21 - 23,021 views
Patrick Hanley highlights the superiority of Atmel’s maXTouch controllers from a moisture immunity standpoint thanks to its adaptive sensing
and hybrid of self- and mutual-touch classifications. To demonstrate this, the Atmel Product Marketing Manager compares the moisture
immunity of both a Samsung Tab S and Xiaomi MiPad, as well as the MiPad's ability to eliminate any false touches. Regardless of its operating
environment, Atmel’s maXTouch chips are designed for robust operations. Dry or wet, cold or hot, these controllers will take on rainy weather
and sweaty hands without any compromise in touch performance

Embedded World 2015: AvantCar 2.0 by Atmel - 2015-03-11 12:10 - 31,876 views
Thomas Wenzel, Atmel Senior FAE, demonstrates the latest version of Atmel’s connected car concept. AvantCar 2.0. includes a 2.5D model of
a car connected to a fully functional center console showcasing car access, car networking, MCUs, audio streaming over-Ethernet-AVB and
CryptoAuthentication products.
Focusing on user requirements for future generation automobiles, AvantCar 2.0 delivers an advanced human machine interface (HMI). The
new concept includes curved touchscreens highlighting HMI in upcoming automobiles using Atmel technologies including XSense, maXTouch,
AVR MCUs and local interconnect network (LIN) . The second generation demo is slimmer than its predecessor, offering a more appealing
aesthetic with improved performance including Silicon Image's MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) solution — a technology that allows users to
easily transmit content from a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device to larger displays such as in-dash automotive displays, while charging
the mobile device.
